Dear Dr. Danberg,
I am writing to thank you for everything that you have done for my son Matthew. Matt was referred to you from his school because his vision issues were causing problems with his reading fluency and in effect, his reading comprehension. Matt has shown good improvement in his fluency and comprehension since starting therapy a year ago. I have seen huge growth in Matt’s self-esteem. He finally considers himself a reader. The therapy that you did was fun for Matt and he never complained about coming to therapy even though we live more than an hour away. The homework that you gave him to do was fun for the whole family. We all enjoyed playing boggle and Wac-a-Mole.
I was amazed to see how Matt’s vision problems affected so much of his everyday life. The exercises that you had him doing opened my eyes to this. I also saw real improvement as he did the exercises on a daily basis.
The advice that you gave to Matt’s teacher’s made a big difference for him at school. The slant board, enlarged print and use of a laptop has helped him in class.
I think that the work that you do with children is innovative and truly helps in ways that just a pair of glasses never could. My husband and I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything that you have done for our son.
